Andriy Shevchenko made his name as a great finisher during his days at home club Dynamo Kyiv when his scored 8 goals in nine games for the Turkish side as a young player. He was quickly snatched up by European giants AC Milan after his brilliant performances for Dynamo Kyiv and went on to become club legend.

He also won the Champions League in 2003 when Milan beat rivals Juventus on penalties to claim his first Champions League winners medal. He also won the Ukrainian footballer of the year six times.

Regarded as probably the greatest ever Swedish player to ever play football, Ibrahimovic makes it to ninth of the list of the Top 10 Champions League all time top scorers with 48 Champions League goals while playing for a total number of 7 clubs, featuring 120 times in the UCL overall.

Ibra, who has a scoring ratio of 0.4, may look to improve that if he returns to Europe.

8. Alfredo Di Stéfano – 49 Champions League goals

Alfredo Di Stefano makes his way to number eight on the list of Champions League top scorers with 49 goals scored during his time at Real Madrid in 58 appearances for the Los Blancos he had a scoring ratio of 0.84 goals per game. He played for Real Madrid from 1955-1964. He was part of the team that won the first five European cups with Real Madrid and managed to score in all five finals establishing a name for himself as one of the best to ever play the game.

7. Thierry Henry – 50 Champions League goals

Arsenal legend Thierry Henry is seventh with 50 goals while playing for Monaco, Arsenal and Barcelona. He is also Arsenal’ all time leading goal scorer. He managed to win the Champions League with Barcelona in 2009 when they bet Manchester United 2-0 in the final after coming out as a runner up with Arsenal in 2006.

He moved to the MLS after his short spell with Barcelona he played for the New York Red Bulls before finally retiring from professional football. Those goals came in 112 appearances in the Champions League having a goal ratio of 0.45.

6. Ruud van Nistelrooy – 56 Champions League goals

Considered to be one of the greatest strikers of all times, Ruud Van Nistelrooy makes his way to number six of the Top 10 Champions League all time top scorers with  56 goals in 77 games with PSV Eindhoven, Real Madrid and Real Madrid, with a goal ratio of 0.77 goals per game.

Despite not winning any European trophy, Ruud Van Nistelrooy won the top scorers award three times during his playing days at Manchester United.

5. Raul – 71 Champions League goals

Coming at number five is Real Madrid legend Raul, who is one of the greatest ever Real Madrid players in the club’s history. The second all time leading goals scorer in Real Madrid’s history dropped to third place when his record was broken in 2014 by Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

4. Karim Benzema – 89 Champions League goals

Benzema, who is now 34, scored his first goal for Lyon in the Champions League on December 6, 2005, 13 days before his 18th birthday, in a 2-1 victory over Rosenborg in the group stage. He moved from France to Madrid in 2009 (the same summer that Cristiano Ronaldo joined the Merengues), and this season he hopes to continue his 18-year streak of at least one Champions League goal per season.

Benzema is a four-times Champions League winner with Real Madrid.

So far, he had featured 106 times for Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League, scoring 86 goals. The goal machine, who seems to never want to stop, has a goal ratio of 0.81.

Lewandowski is a Champions League winner with Bayern Munich in 2019/20.

Regarded as the best player in the history of football, Argentine Lionel Messi is the second-highest goalscorer in Champions League history with 125 goals. The Barcelona forward broke Raul’s recod in 2014 with a hat-trick against APOEL

The Argentine has scored 125 goals in just 156 Champions League appearances, he has a goal ration close to one goal per game, his goals have come since making his debut in 2005 and has gone on to become one of the greatest to ever play in the Champions League.

Lionel Messi has won four Champions League winners medal and has a good chance of collecting another one to make at five at the end of the season.

Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo makes the top of list of the Top 10 Champions League all time top scorers with 140 goals scored during his time at Manchester United and Real Madrid respectively.

In 2009, Cristiano Ronaldo joined Real Madrid for the then world record fee from Manchester United since the he had established himself as one of the greatest footballers to ever grace the football world. He has won five FIFA Ballon D’Or, as much as Lionel Messi. In summer 2018, Ronaldo left to join Juventus, with who he hopes to win the Champions League next.

Cristiano Ronaldo is the UCL top scorer of all time

Cristiano Ronaldo has won the most Champions League titles as player. He has won five titles. He won a title in 2008 against Chelsea in Moscow with Manchester United.

Ronaldo has also won four times with his current club Real Madrid. He won two titles in 2014 and 2016 after beating their local bitter rivals Atletico Madrid in both final. Later he won another two titles against Juventus in 2017 and against Liverpool in 2018.

Since making his Champions League debut in 2003, Cristiano Ronaldo has gone on to score 127 goals and counting making him the current All time leading goal scorer in the UCL, with 14 goals ahead his rival Lionel Messi.
