Free Agents In Football For The Summer Transfer Window
Who are the top free agents available this summer? Clubs are scavenging for players who meet their standard of quality but for cheaper deals. That could mean players on expiring contracts or ones from lesser-known clubs and leagues. Watch & Bet Football Live =>
Carrying out the latter is difficult with scouting also made difficult right now. Experienced free agents are worth their weight in gold and they will be the most celebrated figures this summer, very much unlike any other transfer window. Here are the top 10 free agents that your favourite club can chase after for the 2022/23 season –
10. Wilfried Zaha – free agents this summer
When Wilfried Zaha’s unprecedented contract offer from Crystal Palace expires on Friday night, he will formally become a free agent. In anticipation of the upcoming season, the international from the Ivory Coast is still debating his choices. One of those options is continuing to play for Palace, the team for which he has become into an icon.
Zaha has been given a new, long-term deal by the Eagles, which is reportedly earning £200,000 per week. However, that agreement technically ends on Friday at midnight. As things stand, Zaha has not yet agreed to the new Palace contract, therefore a satisfactory outcome by the set date seems improbable.
9. Eden Hazard – free agents this summer
The Belgium international decided to end his contract with Real Madrid a year early after a frustrating four-year spell with the Galacticos. He struggled to make his mark at the Bernabeu due to injury and fitness concerns and was restricted to only six league appearances this season.
8. Adrien Rabiot

The French midfielder’s current contract with the Old Lady will expire in the coming weeks and Rabiot will be available as a free agent. Man United who made a move for the 28-year-old last summer is expected to rekindle their interest as Ten Hag seeks to revamp the midfield at United. Man United seemingly lack depth in the middle of the park and Rabiot would be a perfect option.
7. Daichi Kamada – free agents this summer
The Japan international’s contract with Eintracht Frankfurt expires in the summer and has been linked with a host of top European clubs. AC Milan are in pole position to sign the midfielder who has reportedly promised to sign a contract with the Rossoneri. He has plundered 16 goals and seven assists from 46 matches in the recent campaign.
6. Lucas Moura – free agents this summer
Lucas Moura, a winger for Tottenham Hotspur, will quit the team when his contract ends next summer.
Recently, Moura has struggled to play since Antonio Conte frequently chooses to start one of Dejan Kulusevski or Richarlison in attack along with the usual pair of Harry Kane and Heung-min Son.
The 30-year-old has only participated in 96 minutes of action in eight games this season and is yet to make a Premier League start.
5. Yerry Mina – free agents this summer
Yerry Mina’s contract with Everton ended, and Fulham is now looking to sign him. After finishing his five-year stint at Goodison Park, the 28-year-old is now a free agent.
According to The Sun, the Cottagers are admirers of the powerful center-back and are planning to swoop in if one of their defenders leaves.
4. Jesse Lingard – free agents this summer
After just one season at the City Ground, Nottingham Forest has released Jesse Lingard. The 30-year-old made a free move to the Reds last summer but failed to make an impression as he soon dropped down the Steve Cooper hierarchy. In his 17 Premier League appearances, Lingard failed to pitch in with a single goal or assist, and he is once again a free agent.
On April 16, he made his final club debut in a 2-0 loss against his old team, Manchester United, playing for only two minutes. Only three top-flight games were played by Lingard in whole of 2023. In the Carabao Cup’s third and fourth round victories over Tottenham and Blackburn, he scored the club’s just two goals.
3. Roberto Firmino
The Brazilian striker ended his eight-year spell with the Reds as his contract with Liverpool expires in the summer. The 31-year-old striker made over 353 appearances for the Reds, scoring 107 goals and providing 70 assists.
Currently, Firmino is one of the high-profile free agents targetted by the Saudi Pro League and could be considered a highly lucrative venture at the final stages of his career.
2. David de Gea

The Spaniard’s contract with Manchester United expires in the summer and the club is yet to announce a contract extension. He has won the Premier League’s Golden Glove award for 2022/23 after keeping 17 clean sheets. But the United No.1 has faced heavy criticism after making some high-profile errors in the latest campaign.
His questionable form has sparked rumours of a possible departure even though De Gea is committed to taking a paycut to extend his stay at Old Trafford. Erik ten Hag is definitely exploring options in the summer window and believes David de Gea needs competition to rediscover his form.
1. Adama Traore – free agents this summer
Since July 1, Adama Traoré has been available for signing. The 27-year-old winger will finish his Premier League chapter and start a new one once his contract with Wolverhampton, the team he joined in 2018 from Middlesbrough, expires. Currently, Italy and Spain are showing an interest in him.
He was reportedly offered to three Serie A teams a few weeks ago, according to Nicol Schira, and he may have multiple opportunities to play in the Champions League—a competition he missed out on while on loan at Barça. If Milan, the player’s top preference, is unable to reach agreements with their top targets in the market, they will contact the player.
