Manchester United are set for a shock swap deal with Paris Saint-Germain, involving Ezequiel Lavezzi and Angel Di Maria.
Such has been the scale of Di Maria’s decline since his £59.7m move from Real Madrid and an explosive start to his United career – with Di Maria notching 3 goals in 5 games – that Van Gaal is already earmarking possible destinations for his club’s record signing.
Unlike Di Maria, a move for Argentine Lavezzi has been on the cards for some time, with the former Napoli striker reportedly close to the exit in Januray.
Liverpool could be in the frame come summer, but United will be hoping to use a misfiring Di Maria to tempt PSG into sending their peripheral forward to Old Trafford rather than Anfield.
