Jose Mourinho has shown his tendency to look to the future, suggesting that he sees Kurt Zouma as a possible future captain.
The Portuguese Chelsea boss appointed John Terry as his captain during his first spell in London, when Terry was only 24.
Mourinho has recently drawn comparisons between the two central defenders, saying, “Zouma is now 20 years old and one day he will be 23, 24 and a player with great maturity, probably even with the leadership to replace John.”
Similar to Terry, Zouma has been heavily involved with the Chelsea first team at a young age, which has been recognised by Mourinho. “This season he is playing more than I expected, more than he expected and more than everyone expected so he is getting experience levels which are very important.”
