AC Milan and FC Barcelona offer contracts to Chelsea legend

AC Milan and FC Barcelona are just two of the clubs that have offered contracts to former-Chelsea full-back Ashley Cole, after he was released by The Blues this Summer.

The English veteran was told by the club at the end of the season that they won’t be offering him a new deal and he is free to look for another club, an announcement that brought the 33-year-old to tears on the final home game of the season during their appreciation lap.

Cole, who was playing on a 12-month rolling contract, has joined fellow Chelsea legend Frank Lampard out the door, but the duo are already attracting serious interest with Milan and Barca the front-runners for Cole’s signature.

The experienced left-back, who is labelled by many as one of the best ever in his position, will discuss terms with several clubs this Summer before deciding who to sign for, but at the moment, it is reported that it will be Italy or Spain for the former-Arsenal and Chelsea man.

Both Barca and Milan are in dire need for defensive reinforcements, with both struggling for depth, and Cole is one of their main targets for the Summer.
