Gareth Bale’s agent, Jonathan Barnett has admitted that the Welshman might remain at Real Madrid for another season despite Zinedine Zidane’s wishes to find him a different home.
Chinese Super League outfit, Jiangsu Suning came very close to securing the winger’s signature but a move fell through in the final moments over his transfer fee. Some news outlets claimed that Bale himself pulled out of the move due to family concerns.
The 30-year-old apparently trained with the Galacticos on Monday but he worked separately from the first-team squad. His agent revealed to Omnisport that a Stamford Bridge stay seems imminent for his client due to the lack of offers.
When asked if Bale would remain at Madrid, Barnett replied, “Yes.” And when further questioned on whether there were any other potential moves for the four-time Champions League winner, he said, “I don’t think so.”
Bales still has three years left on his contract with Real. He was allowed to feature in the pre-season games against Arsenal and Atletico Madrid but his involvement in the upcoming season might be staggered to a bare minimum.
There is definite tension between the attacker and Zidane after the two went at each other publicly. Real also have reinforced their wing options with younger talents such as Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo over the past two seasons. Developing them would be of higher priority for the Madrid boss than to give playing time to a winger who seemingly does not fit into his plans.
