Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has admitted that he is a big fan of on-loan Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku.

The Belgium striker has been on fire this season for Everton, and according to numerous reports, Jose Mourinho is willing to sell the striker if a club offers in excess of ÂŁ18million.

Many fans were shocked at Mourinho’s decision to loan out the 20-year-old this season after what he produced for West Bromwich Albion, and despite impressing during his time at Goodison Park, Mourinho is clearly not interested in keeping the Belgium.

It was reported earlier today that Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Lukaku, but in an interview today, Pardew has confirmed that he’s a big fan of the striker and may well bid for him in the Summer.

“I think he is a player a lot of clubs will be looking at in the summer. I don’t think Everton will get a free run at him,” said Pardew.

“At the moment, it is a bit like we are with Loic (Remy). It is a situation that Everton would love to keep him, as we would with Loic, and those questions are really out of Everton’s and our control.”
