The striker is set for a Premier League move

Newcastle United bound Aleksandar Mitrovic has taken to social media site Facebook to say his goodbye to R.S.C. Anderlecht.

The new Toon boss Steve McLaren has pinpointed the Serbia international as his main target; and Mitrovic is set to move to St. James’ Park for around ÂŁ13 million.

The centre forward is also an apparent target for Premier League champions Chelsea, but Jose Mourinho has recently added Radamel Falcao on a season-long loan from AS Monaco instead.

‘It’s over!’

When speaking to his fans on Facebook, Mitrovic said: “It’s over! Again in black and white :)). Thank you RSC Anderlecht! Thank you for everything!”

The 20-year old scored 23 goals in 45 appearances in all competitions last season for Anderlecht, including the equaliser in the 3-3 draw at Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium in the Champions League group stage.

Mitrovic could also be joined on Tyneside by a fellow goalscorer in Charlie Austin, as McLaren and Mourinho are set to battle again for the signature of the Queens Park Rangers’ striker.
