Tottenham Hotspur plan winger change in January

Tottenham Hotspur will allow Andros Townsend to leave the club in January, but only if they can land Crystal Palace’s Yannick Bolasie.

Spurs were keen on signing the pacy winger over the summer, but Alan Pardew‘s ÂŁ40million valuation put off Mauricio Pochettino from making a formal bid.

Bolasie has been in superb form over the past two seasons for the Eagles, but because of Pardew‘s high asking-price, he’s been stuck at Selhurst Park despite bigger clubs showing interest.

Spurs and Liverpool were both keen over the summer, but neither lodged formal bids due to the asking price.

However, Spurs could renew their interest in the New Year, but only if they can offload Townsend.

The England international has fallen down the pecking order at White Hart Lane under Pochettino, and with the Euros coming up next summer, it’s reported the winger wants out.

Newcastle United have been linked with making a move for the Englishman, which could then see Tottenham launch a bid for Bolasie.

It’s reported that a move to St James’ Park would only be a loan-deal for now.
