Antonio Rudiger has confirmed there hasn’t been any contract talks with the club so far.
The German international has been very crucial to Maurizio Sarri’s plans this season featuring in all the 17 matches in the Premier League so far. He alongside David Luiz has been pretty rock solid in the Blues backline providing protection to the team.
The 25 year old has been pretty consistent with his performance and has kept a low profile throughout the season. The 25 year old does have a pretty long term contract but with Sarri determined to keep his core setup intact the club already has rolled out new contracts to a number of players with the likes of N’Golo Kante and Cesar Azpilicueta.
But Rudiger insists he is quite happy with his current position at the club. “That’s not the case to be honest.
“There’s no need, because I still have three-and-a-half years to go.
“There’s no speaking between me and the club. It’s also not necessary at the moment either with three-and-a-half years to go.”
Rudiger also showers praises on Eden Hazard who has been quite instrumental in Chelsea’s excellent run. “He doesn’t have too much ego, so if he sees someone in a better position he plays them in, and that’s fair enough.
“The way he’s playing is fantastic. We all know what he’s capable of and I’m happy for him. Every position he plays he makes a statement, he’s strong.
“He’s really doing a fantastic job. He’s a leader, he’s a good example, not by speaking, but by doing, so he’s very good.”
