Arsenal have taken a step forward in their attempts to sign Sami Khedira after agreeing a £19.8m deal with Real Madrid.
Reliable Spanish paper, Marca, reports that Khedira will move to the Emirates in the coming days, as the midfielder enters his last year in his Real Madrid contract.
All that is left now is for Khedira to agree personal terms with Arsenal, which is not expected to hit any problems.
Wenger and Arsenal are working hard to agree a compromise on the German’s £150,000-a-week wage demands, which would make him the highest earner alongside new signing Sanchez and Ozil.
It appears that Khedira has opted to join Arsenal amid heavy interest from Chelsea, who are also willing to meet the player’s demands as they look for a partner to play alongside Cesc Fabregas next year.
