United stall in Vidal transfer

Manchester United have stumbled across a block in preventing them from signing Juventus and Chile star Arturo Vidal.

The Red Devil’s are understood to have agreed a £35m pound deal with Juventus to prize away their star man upon Louis Van Gaal’s arrival at Old Trafford.

However, contract talks are currently stalling with the player demanding at least £150,000 a week, compared to United tabled offer of £100,000 a week.

United boss Van Gaal is desperate to make the Chilean his next signing, after admitting that the player was on of his top targets.

Vidal told Chilean TV on Tuesday that he was calm about his future and was not going to try and force through a switch.

‘I’m already at a great team, Juventus, so I will be just as calm if the Manchester United option falls through,’ he said.

But with Juventus boss, Antonio Conte, leaving the Italian side by mutual consent yesterday, a deal is expected to take place, after United and Vidal decide on acceptable wage terms.
