According to reports, Arsenal are confident that they can sign Borussia Dortmund defender, Mats Hummels, in a deal worth £32million, either in January or next Summer.
The German international, who has been wanted by Manchester United throughout the Summer, rejected a move to the Premier League in order to stay at Dortmund and was later made captain by manager, Jurgen Klopp.
However, The Gunners, who are light at the back due to injuries, are feeling confident that an offer of around £32m will be enough to see the Bundesliga club accept the offer and part ways with their star defender.
Despite spending all the Summer window trying to lure him away from Dortmund, it’s believed that United have given up on signing him and are now looking at other possible candidates, leaving Arsenal with a potential clear path to sign him.
