Arsene Wenger admits he’ll sign if he sells

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has admitted he will be signing someone before the Transfer Deadline Day, but only if he sells someone first.

The Gunners have already signed Mohamed Elneny from FC Basel, but with several first-team stars returning from injury at just the right time for Wenger, he’s admitted that he doesn’t expect to be busy from now until Monday.

The likes of Francis Coquelin, Tomas Rosicky, Danny Welbeck and Alexis Sanchez have all returned to first-team training in recent weeks, and that has meant Wenger is not expected to be busy in the market.

However, the Frenchman has confirmed he will sign if someone leaves.

One In/One Out

Asked if he is close to a new signing, he said: “No not at all because as I said we have 23 players in training plus two is 25.

“Unless people go out… we are not on the verge of bringing anybody in.”
