Arsenal are hoping they can sign Toulous right-back Serge Aurier as a replacement for Manchester City-bound Bacary Sagna.
The current right-back at the Emirates Stadium is set to leave the club this Summer on a free once his contract expires, and after rejecting three offers from the club’s board, a transfer away is expected and Manuel Pellegrini is favourite to land his signature.
Sagna will become the fourth high-profile Arsenal player to join City, along with Emmanuel Adebayor, Gael Clichy and Samir Nasri
With Arsene Wenger not ready to give Carl Jenkinson the first-team role permanently just yet, he is on the look-out for a new defender, and Aurier is on the top of his wishlist.
The 21-year-old is set to go to the World Cup this Summer with Ivory Coast and could go for as little as £7million with the Premier League a keen interest of his.
Aurier was included in the Ligue 1 Team of the Year this season and even contributed six goals and six assists for Toulouse.
