Arsenal are looking into the signing of Newcastle United midfielder Cheick Tiote, and are looking to fend off interest from Russian side Lokomotiv Moscow, according to the Metro.
Moscow are set to launch another bid, after seeing a ÂŁ8 milliom bid for the Ivory Coast midfielder turned down.
But Arsenal believe that they can meet Newcastle’s valuation of the player, with the Magpies putting a ÂŁ14 million valuation upon the player.
Arsenal are apparently ahead of Lokomotiv to fund any deal, with Tiote being a long term target for Arsene Wenger.
