Arsenal legend Ian Wright claims he has been disappointed with Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s performances since the forward arrived at Manchester United.

The Sweden captain joined the Red Devils on a free transfer from French giants Paris Saint-Germain in the summer transfer window and has netted 13 goals in 23 games so far this campaign.

Despite the decent goals to games ratio, Ibrahimovic has not taken enough chances in games which United have not come away with all three points – particularly against Stoke City and Burnley at home, according to former England star Wright.

Wright has already criticised the 35-year-old’s displays this term and he has now turned on the heat and questioned the striker’s ability in build-up play.

“I’ve been disappointed with his link up play and hold up play,” Wright told The Sun’s Goals Podcast.

“I didn’t expect to watch him and see the ball come off him so easily.

“As a player of his stature and calibre, I’m very surprised how lax he has been on the ball.”
