Romanian international, Vlad Chiriches, has an uncertain future at White Hart Lane. Since returning from injury earlier in the year, the 24-year-old centre back has been unimpressive at the heart of the Spurs defence.
Clearly a good player, Chiriches has been prone to mistakes that have cost Tottenham, and the £9.5 million, club-record signing has been the subject of transfer speculation for some time.
He has now fallen out of favour with Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino and has been told he can leave the club.
According to Italian sources, Inter Milan and Juventus are interested in loan deals, but Arsenal are ready to part with cash to offer the 6-foot stopper a lifeline.
With Arsenal’s well-documented problems at the back at the forefront of Arsene Wenger’s mind, some may question whether Chiriches is the answer.
At least the transfer travel costs will be low, so there are savings to be made. £15 in a cab should do it.
