Chilean makes shock admission following Swansea City defeat

Arsenal have lost their hunger to win the Premier League title, according to star-man Alexis Sanchez.

The Chilean, who has been out-of-form since returning from injury, cut a frustrated figure last night as they slumped to another shock defeat, this time at the hands of Swansea City.

The Gunners lost 2-1 at home to the relegation-threatened side, and after the game, Alexis admitted that the players had lost their hunger to win the title.

Arsenal had a real chance to gain some yards on Leicester City and Tottenham Hotspur, as both dropped points, but a late Ashley Williams goal sunk the hosts to yet another defeat.

The defeat means Arsene Wenger‘s men have won just three games since Christmas, leaving them behind in the title-race, and Alexis believes the players have lost their hunger and confidence.

Alexis Admission

“We lack self-belief, that we can actually be champions,” he told Directv Sports.

“I think we can win the Premier League with the players we have. That said, we lack a certain hunger.

“We need to step out onto the pitch as if we’re already 1-0 up.

“I remember a game against Manchester United last year. The lads looked hungry for silverware as we took to the pitch.

“We crushed them in the first 20 minutes and went 3-0 up. We were hungry and brimming with confidence that day.”
