Arsenal are set to make a fresh offer for Sporting Lisbon holding-midfielder, William Carvalho, with the reported fee set to be around £21.3million.
The Portuguese international has been monitored by Arsenal, as well as Manchester United and Chelsea, but with just two days left in the transfer window, it looks like Arsene Wenger is favourite to land the midfielder.
Any move for Carvalho looked off the cards due to his £30m+ release clause in his contract, but due to lack of formal offers coming in for the 22-year-old, the Portuguese club have lowered their asking price to roughly £24m.
According to reports, Arsenal are now set to make a £21m offer and Wenger is confident that it will be enough to land his man.
The Gunners are in the market for a holding-midfielder and also a centre-back, but the majority of the fans also want to see a striker come in before Monday’s deadline.
