Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong has asked manager Arsene Wenger if he could leave the club this month on a permanent basis.
The 22-year-old was labelled as the next Patrick Vieira at the Emirates Stadium, but due to injuries and a lack of first-team opportunities, the holding-man has never quite lived up to his reputation.
Frimpong was then sent on loan in order to gain first-team experience, but failed to impress during his time at Charlton Athletic, Wolves and also Fulham.
It is believed that he has officially asked Wenger if he can leave the club on a permanent basis as he sees himself with no future anymore at Arsenal.
According to reports, several Championship sides are interested in Frimpong and also a couple from the Premier League are too.
