Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud has confirmed that he is in talks with the club about extending his current contract.

The Frenchman, who featured regularly last season due to being the only recognised striker at the club, has still got two years left on his current deal, but he has confirmed that talks have already begun regarding an extension and a pay-rise.

‘I have two years left on my contract, but we are in talks to extend it,’ he told L’Equipe.

‘I feel comfortable in the Premier League.’

The 27-year-old bagged 22 goals last season in 51 appearances as The Gunners ended their nine-year trophy drought, and the Frenchman is set to earn a staggering £20k-a-week extra from what he’s currently on.
