Arsenal want departing Man City keeper Costel Pantilimon to solve their goalkeeping crisis. The Gunners are desperate for a new glovesman, with Lukasz Fabianski out of contract and Emiliano Viviano’s loan spell reaching its end.
Boss Arsene Wenger wants to sign a keeper who could provide genuine compeition for first-team goalkeeper Szczesny and sees Pantilimon as the ideal solution. The 27-year old has rejected a new contract at the Etihad and will be available to sign on a free this summer.
The Romanian would like to stay In England despite increasing interest from Spain and Italy, with Wenger willing to give him a chance to become Arsenal’s number one goalkeeper. He is extremely tall at 6 foot 8 inches and he impressed in his appearances for Man City last term.
He has experience of being at a top Premier League side and all of these features are appealing to Wenger who is keen to complete a deal for him.
