Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny is in talks with the club over a new deal, which could fend off interest from Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain and AS Monaco.
Recent reports have linked the Frenchman with a big move away to one of Europe’s elite, but after holding talks with manager Arsene Wenger on Thursday, a new deal could be in place before the end of the season.
The Gunners have been busy off the field securing the long-term future of several of their first-team players, and Wenger is desperate to add Koscielny to that list.
The French centre-back has blossomed this season alongside Per Mertesacker and the two are becoming widely known as the best partnership in the Premier League.
The 28-year-old still has three years left on his current deal, but Wenger is keen to reward him for his improvement.
