Arsenal are in talks with Villarreal to sign star midfielder Denis Suarez, according to reports in Spain.
The 22-year-old has been in fine form for the La Liga side this season, having previously spent two years at Premier League side Manchester City between 2011 and 2013.
The Spain U21 international started in last week’s 1-0 win over Liverpool and set up Adrian Lopez to give Marcelino Garcia Toral’s side a vital 1-0 lead on aggregate before the second leg at Anfield.
Suarez started in tonight’s 3-0 defeat to Liverpool at Anfield tonight, but was the one who stood out for Villarreal. Liverpool went through to the Europa League final after winning 3-1 on aggregate.
The Spaniard started his career at Celta Vigo B before moving onto Manchester City, Barcelona B and is now playing the best football of his professional career.
Arsenal are mainly target Granit Xhaka and N’Golo Kante this summer. However, the Gunners have also opened talks with Villarreal to bring Suarez to the Emirates, according to Spanish daily publication Marca.
Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City are also showing major interest in the ever confident attacking midfielder.
