Arsenal are set to miss out on transfer target Stephen Lichtsteiner after Paris Saint Germain entered the race to sign the player.
Lichsteiner is reportedly unwilling to sign a new contract at current club Juventus, who have decided to sell in the January transfer window rather than lose the player for nothing next summer.
That alerted Arsenal who were ready to bring the left back to North London, however a late offer from PSG could throw a spanner in the works.
The oil-rich club are willing to double the Swiss international’s current £1.5m-a-year salary to tempt him to the French capital, and with Lichsteiner reportedly keen on the move, there could be more transfer frustration for Arsene Wenger.
Chelsea and Real Madrid have both shown initial interest in the veteran as well.
