The Gunners aren’t worried about Manchester City interest

Arsenal are not prepared to offer midfielder Jack Wilshere a bigger contract despite the reported interest from Manchester City.

The England international is wanted by Manuel Pellegrini as he looks to overhaul the City squad in the Summer ready for the 2015/2016 campaign.

City Overhaul

City have fell way short of expectations this season and if the Chilean is still in a job for the new campaign, he wants to make drastic changes, including signing more younger players and more homegrown players.

The current City squad is ageing and also lacks English players which could get them in trouble with the FA and the Premier League.

Wilshere is just one name on the list for City, and they are prepared to offer him a lucrative deal to swap the Emirates for the Etihad.

Emirates to Etihad Transfers

Previous Arsenal stars such as; Kolo Toure, Gael Clichy, Samir Nasri and Emmanuel Adebayor have all done the transfer from London to Manchester, but Arsene Wenger has insisted that they don’t have to sell their top players anymore.

Wilshere is currently on a ÂŁ90k-a-week deal, but according to reports, City are prepared to offer him ÂŁ150k-a-week.

The 23-year-old still has three years remaining on his deal at Arsenal and because of the long-term contract, officials will not respond to City’s interest by offering the midfielder a larger weekly sum.

Highest Arsenal Earners

Currently at Arsenal, Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez are the club’s highest earners and they take home ÂŁ140k-a-week and the board want to keep it that way.
