Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis has dropped a massive hint that the club do not want to re-sign Cesc Fabregas from FC Barcelona this Summer.

Despite having first refusal for the Spaniard, Arsenal are not interested in signing their former-captain and that was all-but confirmed last night during the club’s Annual General Meeting, where Gazidis faced the public and answered their questions.

Transfer activity was brought up a lot at the AGM and the chief exec. was very open about what the club are planning on doing this Summer.

According to members of the public who attented last night, Gazidis admitted that talks are already ongoing with several targets and he’s revealed that they were working with Real Madrid for months before signing Mesut Ozil, so he has reassured fans that it takes time to secure transfer, especially for star players.

When asked about Fabregas and also Serge Aurier, who has been heavily linked to the Emirates Stadium, Gazidis appeared to dodge the question, but then comment saying that the club have to be smart with their money and make priority signings first.

This was more aimed at the Fabregas saga as Wenger has already stated that he must sign priorities first, which is believed to be a right-back, holding-midfielder and a striker, none of which Fabregas are.

Another member of the public tweeted that one of Arsenal’s directors admitted that Fabregas was available, but Wenger isn’t sure they should spend money on him before signing their other targets first.

That same member then confirmed that The Gunners are ‘99.9%’ not interested in signing Aurier from Toulouse, despite them needed a replacement for Bacary Sagna.
