Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed that midfielder Mesut Ozil will miss ‘at least a few weeks’ after he picked up a hamstring injury during last night’s 1-1 draw with Bayern Munich.

The German international was seen strolling around the pitch for much of the first-half before being substituted at half-time by Wenger for Tomas Rosicky.

Ozil then went off with Bayern Munich’s head physio, who is also the physio for Germany, and he was then sent to a local hospital for more check-ups.

After the game, Wenger confirmed that it was a bad hamstring injury and stated that he will miss at least three weeks.

“We have to make a scan tomorrow to see how bad it is but he is out for at least a few weeks,” said Wenger.

Arsenal’s 1-1 draw in Germany was not enough for them to advance to the Quarter Finals of the Champions League, but they will take some heart from the result, but after the game, it was Arjen Robben that Wenger had a lot to say about.

He said: “Robben is very good at getting the maximum of nothing. He is a great player and a very good diver.

“He is a fantastic player, I would not deny that, he’s one of the best players in the world.

“But he gets in front of a player and then he slows down and goes down. He gets the free-kicks.”
