Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger’s hunt for a striker looks set to continue in January as he is desperate to sign a back-up to help share the load with current striker Olivier Giroud.

Reports broke out earlier today that the Frenchman might go back in for Chelsea’s Demba Ba once the January transfer window opens up, but now it looks like he is set to look outside of England and in La Liga and Seria A.

It is believed Wenger has both Karim Benzema and Fernando Llorente near the top of his wishlist, with The Gunners boss keen to renew his interest in the Real Madrid striker.

Benzema’s current runs out in 18-months and Wenger may use that in order to pay a cut-priced figure for the striker, but he will still have to match his salary, which currently stands at ÂŁ150k-a-week.

Elsewhere, Wenger is also keeping close tabs on Juventus striker Llorente and it is thought that he could make a move for him in the Summer as Juve might be keen to make money on him after signing him for a free this year.
