Atletico Madrid are set to bid for long-term Liverpool target Xherdan Shaqiri, who could be given permission to leave his current club Bayern Munich before the transfer window slams shut. Many clubs have expressed their interest in the Swiss winger, and Brendan Rodger’s Liverpool is said to be one of them, as the Northen Irish manager looks to buff up his squad ahead of a potential title challenge.
However, according to Calciomercato, Atletico are in the driving seat to sign the 23-year-old after reports claimed the Spanish champions have made an offer for his services. Bayern are believed to be in no rush to sell the Switzerland international, but it is far from certain Shaqiri is allowed to leave the German club this summer.
