According to reports, Jose Mourinho will allow the 19 year-old to leave the club at the end of the season so he can gain experience in another club’s first team rather than Chelsea’s reserve team.

The Portuguese manager has made Baker part of his plans for the future and will even give him some first team action next season but it also interested to see how the youngster will cope during a spell away from Stamford Bridge.

Although the midfielder is still yet to make a league appearance for the Blues, he made his professional debut for the club last season as Chelsea ran out 2-0 winners in the FA Cup over Derby.

The former Luton Town youth prospect joined the Stamford bridge side back in 2005 when he was just nine years of age, rejecting offers from Arsenal and QPR in the process, and has since gone on to make various appearances for England’s youth sides.

Bakes was also named England U20s captain and has gained attention from a number of Championship sides as a result and despite strong interest from Leeds, it would appear that Baker will be united with Steve McClaren in the Derby set-up.
