Barcelona believe that they can sign Liverpool striker Luis Suarez for just £40 million following the biting allegations against the player. The catalan club has already began negotiations after Suarez’s agent travelled to Spain to discuss personal terms.
Suarez was yesterday banned 4 months of professional football altogether along with a 9 match international ban due to his biting offence against Italy defender Giorgio Cheillini, however FIFA have allowed Suarez to transfer during the suspension time. According to reports in Spain, Barcelona will be happy to sign the player despite his shame, but only if the 27-year-old apologizes for his offence.
Barcelona also believe that the biting will push Suarez even closer to a Liverpool exit. The reports also suggest that Liverpool want to sell the Uruguayan immediately and may even allow the player to be sold for a cut-price fee.
It is understood that Barcelona will start the bidding at £40 million, and believe that they have the upper hand on the deal.
