Head coach Luis Enrique has cited the Spaniard as a “key player”

Amid reported interest from the likes of Liverpool, Enrique praised the 27-year-old after his winner yesterday.

Chelsea and Arsenal were also rumoured to be chasing Pedro’s signature after the forward has found first-team football hard to come by at Barcelona.

The Catalan giants were reportedly looking to offload the winger to raise some funds in time for the end of Barcelona’s transfer embargo in 2016.

However, after scoring his first goal for the club since February, in yesterday’s 2-0 victory, Enrique admitted how “important” the Spain international is.

Premier League suitors

Liverpool manager, Brendan Rodgers is reported to be interested in Pedro as a possible replacement striker following the expected departure of both Mario Balotelli and Rickie Lambert.

Chelsea may well look to bolster their attacking options and bring the Spaniard to London – the Blues have gone through this season with only three recognized strikers.

Finally, Arsene Wenger believes the influence of former team-mate Alexis Sanchez will be enough to convince Pedro to join the Gunners in the summer.

Barcelona’s 2-0 win over Real Sociedad leaves them just a victory away from clinching the La Liga title, after Valencia held Real Madrid to a 2-2 draw.
