Birmingham ‘wonderkid’ set to move to Liverpool!

With Raheem Sterling bursting onto the world stage in the last 18 months or so, it is no wonder the media are waxing-lyrical about him. Without him this season so far, I doubt very much that Liverpool would be sitting in 5th place in the Premier League before this weekends matches.

Well it seems one Sterling isn’t enough. The Anfield men appear to have discovered a new model, currently plying his trade in the West Midlands with Birmingham City.

England under-19 starlet, Demarai Gray, is firmly on the Liverpool radar. Despite interest from Tottenham, the Reds secured a ‘first-option’ to buy the youngster whilst negotiating the loan deal of Jordan Ibe at the start of the season. Ibe himself is held in high esteem at Anfield following some excellent outings for the Merseysiders in pre-season.

Following some stunning performances for the Blues so far this term, it looks highly unlikely Birmingham are going to be able to hold on to this prestigious talent, and Liverpool will be looking to secure a ÂŁ2million deal sooner rather than later.

Originally from Birmingham, the youngster started his fledgling career at ‘Cadbury Athletic’. What an excellent name for a team. I am going to check them out. Apparently they are up against Rolo Rovers at the weekend.
