Mignolet has fallen down the pecking order in recent months
Borussia Dortmund are expected to overhaul their squad this summer after a poor campaign in both Bundesliga and Champions League. They are currently at third position in the League and are 29 points behind the champions Bayern Munich.
Bundesliga giants wants to add reinforcements in key areas and wants to sign a new goalkeeper to provide competition to their current number one Roman Burki. They are interested in Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet, but will have to pay £10 million for his services, the Sun reports.
Simon Mignolet joined Liverpool from Sunderland for a reported fee of £9 million on a five-year contract in the summer of 2013. He has made just over 200 appearances for the club in all competitions.
The 30 year old has often been criticized for his inconsistent performances since joining the Reds. He was a regular in the earlier stages of the season but after a number of errors he lost his place to Karius, who has since impressed under Jurgen Klopp.
The Belgian International hasn’t featured in the Premier League since the New Year’s day and has been heavily linked with a summer exit. Liverpool thought of a swap deal with Stoke city’s goalkeeper Jack Butland but the Potter’s got relegated and the former Sunderland man is not keen to play in the Championship.
The Premier League giants are now ready to sell him to Dortmund but wants around £10 million, a fee which the German club are ready to pay to secure his services.
