Manchester City make first move for winger

Manchester City have had a £25million bid turned down by Liverpool for contract rebel Raheem Sterling.

The England international is strongly expected to leave the club over the Summer after informing officials at Anfield his desire to quit the club.

Sterling’s Controversy

Sterling has had a controversial season to say the least after taking part in an interview with the BBC without letting Liverpool know. The winger admitted in the interview that he wouldn’t be signing a new contract until the end of the season.

However, he then informed the club that he has no plans on extending his stay and has since told them he wants to leave, sparking interest from several clubs across Europe, including four Premier League teams.

Premier League Interest

Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal have all been linked, but it’s The Citizens that have made the first move.

According to Sky Sports News, City have had a £25m bid turned down, which would have increased to £30m with £5m worth of add-ons.

However, The Reds value Sterling at £50m and won’t accept anything less as they don’t want to lose one of their main stars, especially to fierce-rivals.
