BREAKING NEWS: Nicolas Anelka walks out on West Brom

West Bromwich Albion have been stunned today after new striker Nicolas Anelka reportedly walked out on the club during training and also alerted them about his decision to retire from the game.

The former Arsenal, Bolton and Chelsea striker signed for The Baggies this summer for a free transfer after his short-term contract at Italian side Juventus expired, but after just a couple of months at The Hawthorns, it appears that the 34-year-old has had enough.

If this is the case, this will be the second striker in recent years that WBA have had go AWOL on them after Peter Odemwingie decided to drive to Queens Park Rangers in hope that a deal could be completed before the transfer deadline, however, no deal was finalised and the Nigerian was left abandoned at the club.

Sky Sports News broke the news just before 4pm and it is believed that the Frenchman was talking to the club to try and sort a personal issue out, but unfortunately for both parties, nothing could be arranged.

No official word has come from West Brom or Nicolas Anelka, but the signs are not looking good for The Baggies.
