Saints agree £4million deal with Queens Park Rangers
Southampton have agreed to sign Charlie Austin from Queens Park Rangers.
The England striker has agreed personal terms with the Premier League outfit and has also successfully passed a medical ahead of a proposed £4million switch.
Austin was a wanted man over the summer, with Leicester City offering £12m to sign him, but QPR rejected all bids in the hope that he would sign a contract extension and stay put at Loftus Road.
However, just months later and with six months left on his contract, The R‘s have been forced to sell and have agreed a £4m fee with the Saints.
The 26-year-old’s arrival comes after Ronald Koeman admitted that Graziano Pelle may not be around the club for much longer due to his age, while Liverpool have been linked with other striker Shane Long.
