Brendan Rodgers blasts Suarez’s snub

Liverpool manager, Brendan Rodgers, has blasted FIFA after Luis Suarez was left off the Ballon d’Or nominee list.

The Uruguayan, who secured a ÂŁ75million move to FC Barcelona over the Summer, is considered as one of the best players in the world, but after FIFA released the list of nominations, Suarez was the one name everyone was shocked to see left out.

It’s believed that his controversial bite during the World Cup could have cost Suarez a place on the list, but his former-boss has blasted the decision as ‘brainless’.

“He should have been on that list.

“Did the bite stop him? You would think so. I don’t believe it is fair. It’s the Golden Ball, not the Golden Ball and Mouth.”

Suarez was vital to Liverpool’s title challenge last season and has been missed by The Reds so far in the new campaign.
