Manchester City manager, Manuel Pellegrini, is showing interest in Liverpool captain, Steven Gerrard, and is believed to be monitoring the midfielder’s contract situation.
The Englishman is yet to open talks with the club regarding a new deal, and has admitted that a move away in the Summer could be a possibility if a new deal isn’t offered.
However, after yesterday’s 1-0 defeat to Newcastle United, Brendan Rodgers revealed that talks will take place soon between the club and the skipper, but that hasn’t stopped Pellegrini’s interest, who revealed he doesn’t rate players by their age.
Pellegrini has taken Frank Lampard on loan for the majority of the season, and could make an offer for Gerrard if he doesn’t sign a new deal at Anfield.
It’s believed teams in America are also keen on the 34-year-old.
