Brendan Rodgers has confirmed that he is on the hunt for a new goalkeeper at Liverpool.
Current Liverpool stopper Simon Mignolet, aged 26, has come under-fire in recent weeks for some poor performances, with the Anfield club now considering a possible replacement.
Mignolet kept a cleen-sheet in Liverpool’s 1-0 win away at Sunderland on Saturday, having previously been dropped in favour of Brad Jones.
‘I think we need a goalkeeper,’ Rodgers told reporters.
‘We are obviously down (on numbers) and have got two young, inexperienced ‘keepers behind Simon Mignolet, who has only just returned, so we need to assess that.’
Top of his wish-list could well be Chelsea shot-stopper Petr Cech during the transfer window, with the Czech becoming increasingly frustrated at playing back-up to Thibaut Courtois in West London.
