Gary Cahill has insisted that Chelsea players do not take any notice of the speculation regarding their next manager and have no idea who it could be.
Reports last week claimed that Antonio Conte had agreed a deal to become the next Blues manager and Roman Abramovich is set to meet with the manager’s agent and brother this week to try and seal a deal to bring him to the club.
Several managers have been linked with the job
Conte is just one of many names linked with the Stamford Bridge hotseat over the past few months, with the likes of Jorge Sampaoli, Diego Simeone and even Roberto Mancini being names linked with the job.
Current interim boss Guus Hiddink could also end up with the job permanently.
However, when it comes to the Chelsea players, Gary Cahill has claimed that he and his teammates don’t take any notice of or talk about the current managerial situation or who the next boss could be. He said: “We are not talking about it.
“None of us know who the manager is going to be. All the talk about the new manager doesn’t distract us at all.”
