Ings has eight goals to his name this season and was on the scoresheet this afternoon as Burnley and West Brom saw out a 2-2 stalemate.

The English forward is available on a free transfer this summer as his contract with the Turf Moor side expires at the end of the season.

Meanwhile Berahino has been criticised for inconsistency in-front of goal and has netted just twice in the league from his last 14 appearances, he also spoke to SkySports last month where he hinted at possible transfer in the not-too-distant future.

The forward, who at the time was valued at around ÂŁ20m, said: â€śIf I can keep them in the Premier League and score as many goals as I can, I’m pretty sure the fans wouldn’t mind me pushing on and going on to bigger things.”

Both Berahino and Ings have been linked with moves to Liverpool and Anfield legend Jamie carragher has advised that the club sign the Burnley talisman over the troublesome Berahino.

“I think Berahino has got a bit more class, he’s a slightly better player,” Carragher told Sky Sports. “But if I were Liverpool I would try and get Danny Ings if they were deciding over the two.

“With Ings, the way he comes across and the way Berahino comes across, I might be totally wrong but you look at it and you think, would there be a problem with Berahino? Maybe an attitude problem?

“You hear him speak, he talks about letting his football do the taking. He’s come out this week and given an interview, I don’t think what he said was the worst thing in the world.

“I think every player would say that – ‘I want to play in the top four’. Tony Pulis would like to manage in the top four. But just don’t say it.”
