Valencia was linked with a £21m move across London to Stamford Bridge and although that deal never materialised, fresh interest may be ignited this summer.
And the Hammers striker has admiited he learned of Jose Mourinho’s supposed interest on social media.
The Ecuadorian international said: “I found out about it from the social networks and from what my team-mates were saying.
“Nobody said anything definite to me. But if a team like Chelsea is interested in me, it’s a big compliment. It makes me want to keep on getting better.”
The 25 year-old has impressed at Upton Park this season since his switch from Mexican side Pachuca, netting three times and registering three assists from his 13 league starts.
