Carroll Suffers New Injury Setback

West Ham striker Amdy Carroll has suffered a fresh injurt setback with a new foot injury and is now waiting to learn the extent of the injury when he see’s the specialist.

Carroll moved to West Ham on a permanent deal in the summer from Liverpool in a deal worth £15 million. The striker spent last year on loan at Upton Park and scored seven goals in 24 Premier League appearances but his season was troubled by a heel injury.

That heel injury has prevented Carroll from taking any part in pre-season, West Ham manager Sam Allardyce had at first hoped that Carroll would be fit to return before September. The striker only started training on Monday but was immediately hit by a fresh injury problem.

West Ham confirmed the injury in a statement and now wait for the ex-Newcastle and Liverpool man to see a specialist to find more about the injury.

“West Ham United can confirm that Andy Carroll suffered an injury to his right foot during his return to full training today,” read a statement on West Ham’s official website.

“Although it is in the same part of his foot as his previous injury, it is a new injury and therefore there will be no prognosis until he has seen a specialist.”

“whufc.com will provide a further update when the relevant information is available.”
