Edinson Cavani has admitted that PSG could sell him this summer in order to make way for their purcahse of Angel Di Maria.
The striker is insisting that he will be staying in Paris next season, but has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford over the recent months. He did little to dampen speculation of a move by turning up late for PSG’s pre-season tour to China.
However, despite praising the possible arrival of Real Madrid winger Angel Di Maria, Cavani suggested he was aware that he could still be sold to make way for the Argentine.
He said: “I am sure I am staying, why would I not be?
“I am happy in Paris, under contract to PSG and calm. I feel good here.
“But, as I have already said, it does not only depend on the player.
“It also depends on the club and what is going on for them.”
And Cavani also moved to play down talk that he was unhappy playing second fiddle to Zlatan Ibrahimovic at the Parc des Princes.
He added: “We had some small problems with respect to the position I wanted to play but I feel very good about that.
“I waited for the right moment to speak.
“It is important for a striker to play in a position that is natural for him.
“Now everyone knows my position and it is not worth talking about anymore.”
