The Belgian appears to have something of a fractious relationship with Mourinho, and admitted recently that he’d not spoken to the Portuguese boss about his future despite mounting speculation

He’s spent the last two seasons on loan with West Brom and Everton, and appeared to be heading for the exit at Chelsea this summer, with Mourinho hoping to raise around ÂŁ25 million from his sale in order to reinvest back into his squad.

Mourinho doesn’t intend on giving Lukaku the regular first team action he craves next season with Diego Costa close to signing for Chelsea, so would rather sell up now

However the talented youngster has his fans amongst the Chelsea board and that he will be offered a new contract at Stamford Bridge, and in order to keep him happy will let him go on loan so that he can play regular football next season.

The likes of Tottenham, Everton and Wolfsburg are all reportedly interested in securing his services on a permanent basis, but whether they would be interested in a loan deal remains to be seen. Indeed, the Sunday People say that Mourinho and Chelsea have resolved not to send him to any of the club’s direct rivals.

Mourinho is likely to be displeased with the fact the he won’t get his own with by cashing in on Lukaku, although he will carry on with his squad rebuilding regardless this summer.

He’s already sealed deals for Cesc Fabregas and Costa, while it is rumoured that Paul Pogba could soon follow from Juventus.
