With Chelsea manager, Jose Mourinho, due to revamp his squad in the summer, Hamburg midfielder, Hakan Calhanoglu, has caught the eye of many at Stamford Bridge.
The Turkish midfielder has displayed some outstanding performaces in Germany this year for struggling Hamburg, and has been watched intensely by Chelsea scouts. Calhanoglu, dubbed the next Mesut Ozil, has also been watched by other premier league clubs, Liverpool and Arsenal.
It is understood that preliminary discussions have already taken place, with Hamburg placing a £12 million pound price tag on the player. However, Mourinho is keen to place a bid of £7 million pounds to capture the midfielder, after Calhanoglu will be looking to leave the German club in the summer transfer window.
Calhanoglu has already told his advisors that he wants to find a new club, with UK based agent Muzzi Ozcan working on a deal for the 20 year-old to move to england this summer.
