Chelsea have been given a double injury blow with the news that defender Branislav Ivanovic and midfielder Frank Lampard will both be sidelined for up to a month.
The news was confirmed by boss Jose Mourinho after he saw his side brush aside Southampton at the St Marys Stadium on New Years Day thanks to goals from; Fernando Torres, Oscar and Willian.
Mourinho admitted that the injuries were sustained during the side’s 2-1 victory against Liverpool at the weekend.
Ivanovic suffered a knee injury and was withdrawn in the first half, whilst Lampard injured a muscle injury and had to be replaced at half-time.
